Kylan Bigby is a versatile and accomplished percussionist, educator, and performer, currently pursuing a Doctor of Music Degree in Percussion Performance at Florida State University, where he also serves as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. He holds a Master of Music in Percussion Performance from the University of Georgia and a Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance from Auburn University. Kylan's teachers include Dr. John W. Parks IV, Timothy Adams Jr., Kim Toscano, and Doug Rosener.

As an educator, Kylan has made significant contributions to collegiate and high school music programs across the Southeast. He has served as a Front Ensemble Instructor for the University of Georgia Redcoat Band and directed the UGA Steel Pan Ensemble. While in Athens he also provided instruction at the Atlanta Suzuki Institute and the UGA Community Music School, in addition to working with high school percussion programs in Alabama and Georgia. Additionally, Kylan contributed to the Auburn University Marching Band during preseason band camps, focusing on rapid skill development and building ensemble cohesion for overall performance excellence.

Kylan is an experienced performer, having played with prestigious ensembles such as the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonia Gulf Coast, Tallahassee Ballet, and the South Georgia Ballet. His diverse performance credits span orchestral, chamber, and contemporary music. He has appeared as a featured performer at events such as the Percussive Arts Society International Percussion Ensemble Competition, where the FSU Percussion Ensemble earned top honors in 2023.

Kylan's dedication to advancing the percussion repertoire is evident in his work as a recording artist and conductor, with world premiere recordings of Cosmic Travel by Daniel Berg and Trust by Aaron Locklear.
